Positive behaviours anywhere can make the people surrounding you feel better and possibly improve in whatever it is that they are attempting to at the moment. If as a start minor effort type behaviours such as smiling and greeting can be put in place in any organisations would surely help employees and organisations flourish despite current challenges in the work system, competitor or other variables.
Structural empowerment may be applied positively to influence the frequency and type of behaviours that can instil the ‘feel good’ factors in any yard. This simple gestures such as:
- Pleasant eye contact
- Smiling and greetings
- Thanking and positive waving
- Saying ‘bye.’
May reduce burnout or stress factors which will increase positivity at work. The relationship which is central to the ability to execute good work will flourish. The realisation that in this age of IR 4.0, relationship and simple communication is perhaps the most lacking and removed due to the advent of technology, stresses more on the importance of us finding and executing steps to have more positivity at work. It is no longer a parts and bits requirement but a great necessity.
There are so many routes and facets that have been researched that we sometimes forget that it essentially humans relationship is the core activities that get the job done and hence, we need to do the best we can to ensure that positivity is the default set up at work and possibly at home.
